A workforce development hub in downtown Akron, driven by the belief that every student deserves a real pathway to a rewarding career.
Akron Career Tech High School is a tuition-free, public charter school serving grades 9-12, located in downtown Akron and open to students up to 21 years of age. Since 2021, we've built a workforce development hub where students earn recognized industry credentials alongside a rigorous academic curriculum.
Our 4-day school week and CTE programs are designed to prepare and certify students who want to join the workforce immediately after graduation — while also meeting the needs of working students, young parents, and students navigating past or current involvement with the justice system.
Today, small class sizes, professional and dynamic educators, and a nurturing, family atmosphere have driven real culture change, satisfactory-or-above attendance, and students graduating early with admission into college and higher education programs.
Every decision and classroom interaction at Akron Career Tech High School is guided by these principles.
Developing character, integrity, and professionalism is the foundation of everything we do.
